An Intrinsic Love for The Craft
Magic lies between words and impression
I have always been in love for mountains, the way they speak a finest language directly into the soul, promoting attraction, tension, humility, joy, inviting to lean over the distance and get to the trail, exposed faces, summit. They imprinted in me the “genius loci”, the animus that each place has and carries beyond all transformation.
My painting is about bringing the Genius Loci into image, transposing the feeling of passing time, focusing the awe around, not to understand but feel in rich detail a deviation of perspective and a fabric of layers.

Artistic eyesight deserves attention
An important part of my artistic work is to relate it with my other two professional activities: philosopher of ecology, and territorial planner. As a philosopher nothingness has no name and everything is combined into same poetic, and as a territorial planner, too.
Choosing one of my paintings to print on canvas, paper or other support provides stronger contact with the continuity of the imagery, the sense of futureness and succession of dwelled ecosystems, of peoples thriving in the condimensional gravity of spacytime.
However if you want to know more about Philosophy of Ecology and Large Scale Climate Troubleshooting with forests and governance, using ecological based technologies for Territorial Design and Planning, let me know.
The Artist
Daniel is an educator, agroecologist, philosopher and artist, spending his lifetime trying to deeply live the paradoxes of values, beliefs, methods and tricks of our culturesights. Founder of Ecotopias Regeneration and Sustainability Institute, Daniel is brazilian, living in Portugal since 2019. Born in Rio, has his roots within the Atlantic Rainforest “Mata Atlântica”, studying water cycles between forest and climate. Since 2005 Daniel is proposing an approach for Climate Changes that recognizes the key role of continental water cycles bonded to large scale biodiverse forests to regenerate in-land rainfall by modulating atmospheric circulation. This development would not be possible without long and frequent walks. Before 2005 when he stopped counting he had traversed 25K+ km on hikes. Since then most of his thought is dedicated to untrigger the mindset that enacts the false civilizatory dilemma of ” we are all victims of climate injustice”, where he states: “climate changes is the product of a bad societal design, let’s design it better”.
